FCP has so many things I don't like and I would prefer to go with the industry standard and move away from FCP, but Avid seems to make it difficult! Has anyone else had a problem purchasing a support contract? I have one camera that uses a compression that needs to be imported into FCP and then taken into MC4, but 5 says I can go directly into MC and that is a big plus. ![]() I want to learn MC and from reading other post it seems like version 5 has a bit of a learning curve compared to 4 and this may be a good time for me to move to MC 5. I spent two months trying to find out why this was sent and not the personal academic version and finally Avid said the easiest way around it is to purchase a support contract, but this seems to be a dead end street! I purchased the academic version that said I had free upgrades over the next 4 years, but for some reason Avid says it's an institutional academic version. I am on week six and have left about 8 messages.
